Our History

Our Birth

The Family Club started in 1995. It was the creation of a group of like-minded parents who wanted the best outcomes for the character and faith development of their children. The primary guiding philosophy has always been that the primary business of parents is the raising of [future] adults!

We felt that being good families wasn’t good enough… we needed a critical mass, a support group of other families with children being raised with the same principles and values. We needed to create positive peer pressure; a nurturing environment that would provide our children with the kinds of friends and activities that would help them to grow into honourable, respectable, happy and well-balanced persons. If friends are real blessings, we wanted our children to be abundantly blessed with many life-long enduring and endearing friendships.

We wanted to create a network of parents we could all rely on for support, help and assistance in gaining the necessary wisdom in life as couples and parents, to be successful at our primary role of forming happy families.

Three Years Later

Three of the founding couples had to move to NSW for work reasons. The Family Club had continued to grow and new couples had to take over the organisational roles.
As it was to be expected, the seeds planted had been very good and so the fruits of their labour continued to bear fruits. Families continued to be added from all over the Perth metro area. Eventually, we would have to find a better more central location.

Primary Skills

The Family Club learned that success depended on having the right kind of content delivered expediently combined with interesting, formative and fun activities. The activities had to be segregated (i.e. parents and children), age appropriate, and we had to have babysitters available for the very young so that parents could really benefit from the parenting workshops. We also learned the value of camping and holidays away as a club… great fun is addictive!
